Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM) 2016 Sustainability Award Application

ISM – Chicago is committed to promotion of a green economy and community through the education of sustainable business practices that protect our communities and the environment we live in.  Through the sharing of innovative best practices in conserving and recycling resources, reducing carbon emissions, enacting climate change programs, and advocating efficient energy use, ISM – Chicago encourages opportunities and ideas to fuel the green transformation.

As part of this mission, ISM – Chicago is pleased to announce the Sustainability Award for 2016. This award will be provided to two companies, a winner and runner-up, affiliated with ISM – Chicago that successfully embraced sustainability initiatives. Examples of sustainability initiatives include reduced energy consumption, use of green materials, reduced landfill waste, reduced raw material usage, increased use of recycled product, allowing for re-use or re-purposing of materials, and improved product or processes as a result of sustainability.

Applications for the award can be found at this link.  The application deadline has been extended to February 29, 2016, and the winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in conjunction with Earth Day.Questions may be directed to 847-298-1940 or e-mail [email protected].

 Green the Building

Grab your laptop or tablet and join AIA Chicago & the US General Service Administration to learn how to play Green the Building!  This in-person workshop starts with an overview and introduction of  the GSA’s SFTool and its companion game, Green the Building. Participants will play the game on their own wifi enabled tablet or laptop to meet target scores. Game play will be punctuated by brief table and whole group discussions about challenges, tactics, lessons learned and a short post-game survey. The session will end with a debrief about the use of games as effective learning tools.

PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN LAPTOP or TABLET.
