Passive House 301: Case Studies

USGBC-Illinois is partnering with Passive House for a three part Passive House series. Join us for the third and final session Passive House 301: Case Studies.

We’ll dive into lessons learned on local projects with a series of “PechaKucha” style presentations (think short, sweet, and to the point), with dialogue and discussion encouraged. This final session will lead up to the GreenBuilt Home Tour, July 23 & 24, 2016, where you will have the opportunity to experience Passive House projects firsthand. The William Eckhardt Research Center brings together the University of Chicago’s first molecular engineering program, and its Nobel Prize-winning physical sciences research groups into one space. The research facility features state-of-the-art laboratories, offices, conference rooms, and a 150-seat conference facility and café. Additionally, the center, which is seeking LEED Gold certification, was exceedingly complex, presenting its fair share of design opportunities and challenges.
