|Connecting Your Community with Climate Change Workshop|
Have you wanted to engage your students or community members with climate change, but found it a challenge to translate abstract concepts into something meaningful to their every day lives? Learn how to engage people in locally relevant climate solutions using the place-based tools and activities developed by the Connect Community+Climate+Action project. Tools are adaptable for use with multiple audiences, from middle school students to church groups to community-based non-profits.
The workshop is geared towards professionals and educators at schools, museums, and other non-profits interested in integrating climate change into their program portfolio. Lunch is included with registration.

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Illinois Governor’s Sustainability Award, the nation’s longest running preeminent environmental and sustainability award. The event will celebrate and recognize its latest honorees – winners of the 2016 Illinois Governor’s Sustainability Award, at our Awards luncheon. The program will be featuring morning keynote John Bradburn, Global Waste Reduction Manager, General Motors, and Kim Frankovich, Global Sustainability Director, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, a subsidiary of Mars, Inc., who will be speaking at the luncheon.
