State & Local Government
LEED and the USGBC has inspired hundreds of laws, incentive programs and administrative policies at all levels of government nationwide. You can find green building policies and procedures in hundreds of cities, counties and states, in 14 federal agencies and departments, and in numerous utility districts, public school jurisdictions and colleges and universities across the United States. LEED itself has been the foundation of a number of these policies, offering a leadership benchmark for governments to demonstrate and reward excellence.
USGBC-Illinois supports the green building landscape in Illinois through education, awareness and understanding of green building policies, standards and codes.
